The 6th Annual Innovators in Education Conference on October 19 at Universities of Shady Grove -“Embracing Neurodiversity- Strategies For Children & Teens” will focus on identifying the brain-based strengths and challenges of children and teens. Our distinguished faculty will demonstrate how universal design for learning and cutting-edge research from the neurosciences and psychology can be implemented across all settings. Professionals will learn new techniques, behavioral interventions and coping strategies for children, teens, and young adults. In addition, they will develop strategies for engaging and motivating students in today’s inclusive classroom

Our keynote speaker will be Carol Kranowitz, author of the Out-Of -Sync-Child.

This year we will feature afternoon breakout sessions highlighting speakers from the fields of mental health and education. Dr.Sharon Saline, author of “What Your ADHD Child Wishes You Knew: Working Together to Empower Kids For Success in School and Life”  will be joined by Dr. Gonzalo Laje, Psychiatrist, Dr. Melissa Brotman, NIMH Assistant Director Neuroscience and Novel Therapeutics Unit, and Elizabeth DuPont Spencer, Social Worker, and ADAA Clinical Fellow.
