One graduate student from each university in Washington, DC will be selected to receive a $250 scholarship. Recipients will serve as a student liaison from September 1st – May 1st. The student liaison will serve as a direct link between their respective universities and the District of Columbia Speech-Language-Hearing Association (DCSHA). DCSHA membership will be required for the selected liaisons.

2020 Scholarship Recipient: 

Karla Armendariz

Karla is a bilingual Speech-Language Pathology graduate student at George Washington University. Before attending graduate school, Karla served as program director at a nonprofit for people on the Autism spectrum. Karla has presented her research at the ASHA 2018 Convention. Her main interests include early communication and language in learners with developmental and intellectual disabilities, disfluency, and service provision for multicultural families.
